The Trade Tracks philosophy

An opportunity for everyone

Every young person deserves the opportunity to see, explore and understand skilled work, without discrimination, stereotyping or assumptions about who belongs.

A diverse group of young people participating together in hands-on skilled-trades activities with a trades mentor.

There is no single picture of who belongs in the trades.

Trade Tracks believes there must be absolutely no discrimination in the skilled-trades community.

A person’s gender, race, culture, disability, age, identity, background or circumstances should never determine whether they are encouraged to explore skilled work.

What matters is their interest, abilities, training, commitment and ability to perform the work safely.

The trades community has worked hard to remove barriers. Modern tools, equipment, technology, protective systems, workplace adaptations and improved training have made skilled work accessible to far more people.

Trade Tracks supports that progress by challenging stereotypes, showing diverse people doing meaningful work and making every student feel welcome to explore every career.

Visibility Inspires Imagination.

Young people cannot imagine opportunities they have never seen. Trade Tracks makes those opportunities visible and gives students the freedom to discover what might be possible.

We do not tell young people what they should become. We show them opportunities, help them explore and make sure every student knows they are welcome to imagine themselves there.
